My work combines words and pictures through the vision of my photography. I came upon this great way of expressing word, rhymes and stories through my photographs whilst planning my exhibition on John Clare. I have spent my hours at John Clare’s cottage in Helpston taking pictures in his garden, which is when I had the light bulb moment to combine poetry with my photographs and so the “John Clare’s Calendar: A View Through the Lens” exhibition was born.
As a child I used to read a lot of poetry so it feels quite serendipitous to combine it with my love of photography. I get a lot of therapeutic benefits from photography so encompassing it with poetry and literature, only enhances that further.
I am now working on my next "Poetry in Camera" project which is on the poetry by Keats.
